What I Bought Today: The Color of Money

Check out this awesome blazer/jacket I found at my favorite thrift spot. I had gone in to look at jewelry and came out with this gem for jsut $30. I am not a green girl, but the fit of this piece was great. I think it can be carried off professionally, with jeans, or a pencil skirt for fall, winter, and spring. Im imagining some cuff sleeves sticking out. The belt can be taken off and worn with other pieces as well. And did you see the cute anchors? Nautical and nice. The jacquard print is a really cool texture, it's like polka dot on polka dot. I love circle patterns because so much can match them, like pearls, pendants, and details on shoes. I actually remember when this piece was new, it's from a few seasons ago. The color is really creatively named, as Juicy Couture has fun with colors. I believe it's called Old Money. I love that phrases like that hold certain societal meanings that are somehow forgotten. It's funny that the term has been reborn into a color. Oh yes, the color of money; the weight of money; the ease and cost-effectiveness of re-buying something old instead of splurging on something new. This color is becoming quite the metaphor. Is there such a thing as "new money?" I say if you look "money" in a piece, it's worth every cent.
