I blogged about the loss of one of my favorite coats here . While I didn't find an exact replacement of the vintage and $5 variety, I did find many modern pieces to take its place. The after Christmas sales were kind to me, but before they even began I found this trench coat from Sam Edelman that I loved. It was very on trend with spikes and crystals, just like his beautiful shoes and bags that I have from his line. When the coat went on sale on Hautelook, I had to get it for the sample sale price.
It was then that I realized I have adopted a thing for trench coats. Trenches will never fully replace the love I have for a good vintage coat, but I love these twists on the classic camel colored one. The pink and yellow ones are by Juicy Couture and are a few years old. One was purchased from my favorite consignment shop in Northern California and the other from Nordstrom. They are perfect for So. Cal. fall and spring too. Here are some trench-wrapped outfits I have worn recently.
Happy (coat) shopping!
I think I need the red one!
